The Fusion - Solid Pure Silver & OCC Copper

Type: Audio Interconnect

The Fusion is the perfect synergy between Solid Pure Silver and PCOCC Single Crystal Copper. Fusion's precise engineering gives it a sonic signature that is uniquely it's own. Our goal was to build a cable that offers the  best of both of worlds, OCC's well rounded  and robust bass matched with Pure Silver's openness and tonal clarity. Not an easy task to achieve but after over a year of prototyping and modifying this cable's construction we were able to hit the perfect balance of musicality and raw musical reproduction, always true to what the original artist intended.

The Fusion  like all of our cables  goes through our new Ultra Sonic cleaning process where we run the raw copper through a water bath that is super charged to burn away dirt, oil, particals and impurities on the surface of the wire before we strand it together with our Pure Silver. This Ultra Sonic Bath also has the added unique effect of giving our cables a pre-burn sound that could take hundreds of hours to achieve through normal use.

Deep Cryo™ Treatment
All of the conductors used in our cables undergo Deep Cryo™ treatment before the insulation is extruded over the metals. Our research has proven that the conductor—and only the conductor— benefits from cryo-treatment. Materials such as polyvinyl chloride (PVC™), Teflon™, PE, and Silicon™ can all be adversely affected by cold-temperature annealing. Cryo-treating non-conductors and insulating materials can cause them to break down and become brittle.
The purity, size, and molecular structure of each conductor determine the specific temperature within the -186ºC to - a 196ºC range that we cryo-treat it at. Zavfino’s research into cold temperature physics has proven that the absolute lowest temperature is not necessarily the best for cryo-treatment.
This is a two-stage process. In the first stage we draw the bare conductor through a ceramic die into an ultrasonic cleaning chamber that bombards the conductor with multiple ultrasonic frequencies. This emulsification process removes all debris from the surface of the wire down to the molecular level and leaves absolutely zero residues.

UltraSonic 7 High Voltage / Thermal Break-in
This is a two-stage process. In the first stage we draw the bare conductor through a ceramic die into an ultrasonic cleaning chamber that bombards the conductor with multiple ultrasonic frequencies. This emulsification process removes all debris from the surface of the wire down to the molecular level and leaves absolutely zero residues. After each individual wire is processed, we strand it into bundles and then subject the bundles to further treatment. During the second stage of the ultrasonic burn-in, we increase the voltage to a higher level that’s just below the threshold of the conductor. This adjustment in temperature allows us to get a unique “break-in effect” normally associated with cables that have had 30 to 40 hours of signal and/or current run through them.

Zavfino’s H-Wound™ + Zero Strand Loss:
Drawing on more than 18 years of manufacturing experience, Zavfino has developed a remarkable new technique for twisting stranded wire tightly around a central solid-core conductor. An electrical phenomenon commonly known as the “skin effect” occurs when electrons move through any solid core conductor. Higher frequencies travel along the outside (the skin) of the conductor faster than midrange and lower echelon frequencies. This results in smeared PRaT, muddled instrumental timbres, and an unnatural sound. Zavfino’s new H-Wound™ manufacturing technique negates the skin effect. Originally developed by OEMs Siemens and Klangfilm, Zavfino uses a customized transformer wire-stranding machine. We further modified the gears in this machinery to create windings at a slower RPM ratio with a much tighter pitch. This patented manufacturing process enables us to twist the wiring at the tightest pitch possible without overlapping the wire strands. Most wire-stranding machines can only fabricate windings up to a maximum of 300 twists per meter. Setting the bar far higher, Zavfino’s patented H-Wound™ cable winding machine creates a pitch rate of 14,000 to 16,000 twists per meter; which is unmatched by any other audiophile cable maker. Zavfino’s new Zero Strand Loss™ manufacturing technique protects the bundled conductors from being damaged during stripping and termination. By ensuring that each core has zero chipped, cut, or mangled strands, we can guarantee that each insulated core is 100% identical. For audiophiles, the sonic results of tighter windings and Zero Strand Loss™ conductors are cables with quieter backgrounds, remarkable timbral accuracy, lifelike PRaT, jaw dropping mid-range resolution, and superior low frequency extension. Our new H-Wound™ stranding technology allows us to protect the delicate electrical signal being transferred through our cables. Combined with Zavfino’s state of the art manufacturing techniques, our precision matched OCC Copper (Cu) and Silver (Ag) conductors used in the Silver Dart™ A/C power cord bring an unequalled purity and honesty to all forms of music. The results are previously unheard details, finesse, and accuracy across the frequency spectrum.

I'd give them 10 starts if i could.

Fantastic. I have them between my Terminator Plus and Atma-Sphere Class D mono blocks and I'm getting loads of transparency with no coloration. Of course cables make a difference and they may either enhance or detract from certain qualities in your system... so your mileage may vary. I think their amazing at this price point.

Incredible Improvement

You really don't know what you're missing until you have it! These cables were such an upgrade to my system, that I suppose I wouldn't consider it my system without them. Honestly this review is for almost a full loom of Zavfino cables (Fina for the dac on the way), Nova speaker cables and Majestic MkII for my integrated, plus these Fusions. They really did take the full 2 weeks of playtime to burn all the way in, but now that they have, I'm in heaven. Clarity and detail are way up, and imaging is on another level. Finally experiencing the either razor sharp or velvety smooth 3d objects in space, and the soundstage is endlessly wider, with the speakers disappearing all together. The perfect balance between smooth and detailed, and just never bright or fatiguing. Treble and midrange are much cleaner and clearer, but the improvement to bass wallop, control and texture is very notable. Compared to my previous cables, also OCC copper, well...there really is no comparison. These cables are the reason my system breathes, I knew it could do it, it just seemed choked back before, and it was, and now it's not. Go Zavfino, you will not regret it!

My Reference

My initial exposure to Zavfino was in September of 2020. After a lot of research, and a few literal headaches from reading through many forums, I decided to get a pair of Prima MKII (you can read my review on that). It proved to me that excellent components materials and build quality are a factor. Those were my first ~audiophile cables. Up to now I've purchased Fusion interconnects for pre-amp<>amp, dac<>pre-amp, pre-amp<>minidsp<>preamp. I love the way they perform and don't find that they add color to sources. They may be a little bright (silver) but I like that. These cables are a great value for the price and I recommend them earnestly. I will purchase 4 additional pairs for my reel and cassette deck soon. I recently upgraded my speakers to something of reference quality (I got the Zafino bi-wire jumpers, too). There is excellent synergy in my system, no doubt quality interconnects play a role (cables really do matter). This is why I will continue to prefer Zavfino products. The price of entry is not unreasonable, actually a great value. Even my friends with more expensive components are impressed with the music reproduction of my setup.

I'm also using Zavfino power cables (preamp, amp,and dac so far).

A truly excellent cable

These replaced a pair of Toxic Cables pure silver interconnects. I let them play for just about 3 hrs before I started listening, and there was immediate improvement. You always worry about any cables that are all or mostly silver robbing you of some warmth or naturalness. I'm happy to report that is of no concern here. To the contrary, these sound more "real" that the pure silvers. I think this may very well be the ideal make-up of materials and construction techniques. I will almost certainly be buying more of these.

Audio Jewelry, sonically and visually

I am starting on my journey to replace all my cables with Zavfino and am 1 power cord and 2 XLR IC's into that undertaking. These IC's are built to the highest standard and literally look like jewelry. Upon inserting them into my pretty high end system, I noticed a lot more detail without any brightness. I also noticed a much enhanced sense of 'space' in my music. I have read other reviews that mentioned to be patient for burn-in to happen, but I can say that I am very happy cold out of the box. If burn in really makes these even better, I can't wait..... I replaced much more expensive cables and am not looking back. Run, don't walk to Zavfino.
